UPDATE: Easter traffic update – M5 reopened
2.00pm: The M5 has been reopened now.

The Easter getaway traffic is already causing travel chaos in the West Country today, with the M5 closed in both directions between junction 24 and 25 due to a vehicle fire.

Avon and Somerset Police have advised anyone heading to the south coast to find an alternative route to avoid the long delays.
