Two farmers' mercy mission hay lorries crash bound for Somerset…
Two lorries laden with hay bound for flooded Somerset crashed in one day in this week’s storms, with one driver on a mercy mission dying, it emerged yesterday.
The tragedy happened before the National Farmers’ Union issued an appeal to farmers across the country not to set off on treks with tonnes of fodder to help flood-stricken farmers, but instead contact them and promise to deliver it when called upon in the coming weeks.
