Fine for woman who ignored lollipop lady in Midsomer Norton
A young driver who failed to stop her car for a lollipop lady has been fined.
Now motorists who fail to stop for the lollipop are being warned they face hefty penalties following an incident outside St John’s and Somervale schools in Midsomer Norton.
In July, 18-year-old Ruth Newman of Silver Meadow, Trowbridge, went through the school crossing at Redfield Road, failing to stop her Ford Ka for the patrol.

End of the road for the car tax disc
The tax disc is to be scrapped after more than 90 years of being displayed on British motorists’ cars.
Chancellor George Osborne is today set to announce that car tax will be replaced by a modern electric system.
Drivers will also be able to pay for their vehicle exise duty by monthly direct debit for the first time but this option will cost an extra five per cent.

'Super tank' wide load travels through Shepton Mallet and…
POLICE have been warning motorists of Bristol to be aware of wide load vehicles travelling through the city the past week. And one such ‘super tank’ was seen travelling through Shepton Mallet and Glastonbury.
The extra wide and extra heavy bull dozer was seen making its way to the M5 on Wednesday, sat on the back of a blue flat-bed lorry.
