The organisers of Glastonbury Festival try to make sure there are as few cars as possible arriving at the site.

As a result they have launched their Green Traveller initiative for 2014, following its introduction for the Festival three years ago.

The initiative means every person arriving at the festival by public transport or bicycle will be handed special Green Traveller vouchers when they walk from the coach to the entrance gate or once they have locked up their bike.

Thousands of people are expected in Taunton today to watch legendary rocker Rod Stewart perform at a charity gig.

Last minute preparations are being made at Somerset’s county cricket ground for the event.

The concert is raising money for Somerset-based St Margaret’s Hospice.

With heavy traffic expected in the area, Somerset County Council is providing extra park and ride bus services from both Taunton Gateway and Silk Mills sites.
