Glastonbury Festival performers such as Coldplay, Damon Albarn and Sir Paul McCartney were among the figures praising the event’s founder Michael Eavis as he was honoured by the music business.
The 79-year-old followed figures such as Sir Elton John, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Kylie Minogue as the recipient of the annual Music Industry Trusts Award for his outstanding contribution to live music in the UK.
