Video footage shows impatient driver using hard shoulder to dodge…
Thousands of commuters have been affected by lane closures because of a lorry fire on a part of the M5.

But one impatient driver was caught on camera using the hard shoulder to bypass the queues – with limited success.

You can see the chance-of-luck attempt in the video above.

The M5 had been partially closed in both directions between J13 (Stroud) and J14 (Thornbury) as crews from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue attended the scene.
