Andrew Kerr, organiser of the Glastonbury Fair held in June 1971 has died at the age of 80.
Following Michael Eavis’ original Pilton Pop Festival in 1970 Andrew Kerr, along with Michael Eavis and Arabella Churchill moved to the time of the event to the Summer Solstice and created an event known as the “Glastonbury Fair”.
The free festival featured music from Hawkwind, Traffic and David Bowie, as well as dance, theatre and poetry.

BAD NEWS for those who have been trying to get Glastonbury Festival tickets since 9am without success so far. They have all sold out.The announcement that tickets had sold out was made 28 minutes after ticket lines opened at 9am. Glastonbury Festival 2015 tickets for coach travellers sell out
TICKETS to Glastonbury Festival 2015 (if you’re going by coach) sold out in less than 15 minutes – again.
Some 15,000 people are the first in the country to get their hands on tickets to the UK’s biggest music festival at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, for next year.
The next batch of tickets go on sale at 9am on Sunday. Pre-registration is required. If you haven’t done so, registration is to reopen now that the coach ticket sale has ended.
