No free bus in the mornings, Wiltshire council chiefs tell the…
Council chiefs at the West’s biggest local authority told 86,000 pensioners and disabled people last night that they could no longer afford the £4.6 million bill for their free bus passes, and that they should have to pay to travel in the mornings from now on.
All the holders of bus passes in Wiltshire are free to travel whenever they like, but council chiefs started a ‘consultation’ on proposed cuts after pointing out that most neighbouring authorities from Dorset to Bath say free passes…
