It’s official – the West Country’s main motorways are among the worst in the country for roadworks.
There was not a single day in 2013 when there wasn’t a lane closure on both of the M4 and M5.
The M5, which runs between Birmingham and Exeter, and the M4, which runs from London to Swansea, were among seven motorway in the UK that did not have a clear day at all in 2013.
The lane closures could have been caused by scheduled roadworks or accidents.
