An area of green land in Somerset which is prized by locals for its natural beauty could soon be replaced by “intrusive” houses.

In December, South Somerset District Council turned down
plans to build 46 houses at the bottom of Gainsborough in Milborne Port, near Sherborne.

The applicant – Gerry Keay of Waddeton Park Ltd – has now launched an appeal against the decision.
