Edinburgh Airport closed due to suspicious package
A busy airport has been closed and is not accepting inbound flights after a suspicious package was discovered in the search area.
Edinburgh Airport was evacuated and a police cordon set up after the discovery of a “potentially suspicious bag” at 1.50pm.
Bomb disposal experts are on the scene.
Some passengers congregated on a nearby car park while others were moved to a nearby hotel.
Police have urged others not to travel to the airport.

Roads closed by flooding in West Country
Roads across the West Country remain closed this morning due to flooding.
In Somerset, the A361 at Burrowbridge and the A372 at Othery are shut, with diversions in place. Other routes, including the B3165 at Long Sutton and New Road, West Lyng, are also closed. A burst water main is also causing problems on the B3114 at Chew Stoke.
