A tired motorist who pulled into a service station after almost falling asleep at the wheel was fined – for snoozing past the two-hour limit.

Car sales manager Paul Kightly, 29, thought he was doing the responsible thing when he pulled off the M3 at Fleet, Hampshire.

He bought himself a cup of coffee before getting his head down for a couple of hours’ kip.

But a few days later his employers were hit with a £100 fine because his company car had been clocked breaking the two-hour limit…

Hundreds more signs warning motorists not to exceed 20mph Bristol come into force today.
New 20mph zones are now in force in Cotham, Hotwells, Bishopston, Clifton, Redland and the city centre.
Around 1,030 signs have been put up between to make drivers aware of the new limit.
The roll-out coincides with five months of major works on the St James Barton roundabout in a bid to make it a gateway to the city.
Motorists are being warned to expect delays until July.
