Power failure grounds flights at Bristol Aiport
All flights were grounded at Bristol Airport after a serious power failure over night.

The airport used Twitter to apologise for the delays and said engineers were at work to restore the power.

At 06:30am the airport tweeted that power had been partially restored and passengers with hand baggage only were being allowed to proceed through to security.

Angry passengers at Bristol Airport were left stranded for 11 hours at Bristol Airport after two Thomas Cook flights were delayed due to “crew shortages”.

Hundreds of holiday-makers arrived at the airport in the early hours of Sunday morning for their flights at 6am to Ibiza and 6.45am to Palma in Majorca.

But as soon as they arrived at the check-in desk they were told their flights were delayed – and spent the next 11 hours waiting.

Man, 86, dies after driving his BMW into home's garden wall in…
An 86-year-old man has died after crashing his BMW into a house’s garden wall in Cricklade yesterday morning.

Police received a call shortly before 10am to reports of a crash involving the one vehicle on West Mill Lane and arrived to find a blue BMW, covered in bricks, having destroyed the wall.

The driver, who was in the vehicle alone, was found unconscious and despite attempts from paramedics, who were also in attendance, to save him the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
