Police are appealing for witnesses and information following damage to number of vehicles across the Avon and Somerset area in the last 48 hours with reports of damage having been received in Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet, South Gloucestershire, Avonmouth and Bath.
Officers are investigating in excess of 50 incidents in which cars have damaged by an offender or offenders who have sprayed vehicles with yellow paint and residents across Avon and Somerset are being urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity around vehicles.
In Glastonbury it seems that several cars were targeted in the Mendip Ditstrict Council car park to the rear of St. Benedict’s School car park as well as further down Benedict Street, and the paint used is permanent, although it is not known if there is any definite link between the attacks in Glastonbury and those in other towns.
Anyone who may have information about those responsible for these incidents is also asked to call police on 101 or alternatively anonymously call the independent charity Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111. They will never ask your name or trace your call.
