A landlord who put up a homemade “no speeding” sign outside his country pub was ordered to pull it down – because it breached health and safety regulations.
Clive Pattison wanted to remind drivers about the 40mph limit on the busy A386 close to the Halfway House Inn in Grenofen, near Tavistock.
His 8ft notice listed the number of accidents – 61 in seven years – and urged motorists: “Kill your speed before someone dies”.
